2:50 am - Sale

So this has pretty much been the worst week ever for me. I haven't gotten results back from important medical tests and it has been two weeks now, I got booted from the schedule at Claire's because of a misunderstanding that resulted in my opening the store late once last month, my truck's brakes went out this evening, and Marshall did end up breaking up with me again. Trying to maintain a positive outlook, though, I am still hopeful that everything will work out. All I can do in regards to the test results is cross my fingers and hope I don't have to wait too much longer. I do have leads to jobs that may be available to me immediately and if not I can always try to take out a loan. I'm not scheduled at hot Topic at all next week, and while that means no money to be made it also mean there will be plenty of time to get my truck fixed. And while yes, Marshall did break up with me again, he forgave me and I am holding out hope that once (not if) I regain his trust things will work out for us.
SO that being said, I am having a fundraising sale in my shop. For all purchases made until further notice, I will be sending out revised invoices for 20% off all regular-priced items and 40% off all clearance items. I don't just sell jewelry, either, guys. I also have photography listings for bare walls belonging to a person of either gender. Please check out my shop if you have a) bare walls that need covered, b) a girl friend/girlfriend in need of new jewelry, or c) a soft spot for me in my time of need. Thanks.

I'm trying to clean out/update my photobucket album, so I've deleted my jewelry entries, as none of the pictures would have worked anymore because I deleted them. Hopefully I'll have fresh pictures of all of my stuff soon! Also: I'm doing a craft show at the community center in Carlisle, Iowa on December 2nd from 3:00-8:00 p.m.

Haven't really done a whole lot lately regarding artstuffs, but I have made some purses and a clutch, some beads/charms/pendants from polymer clay, and started work on a couple new styles of earrings. Well, new to me, anyway. I think from now on, this is how I'll update. I'll tell you what I've done and then provide links to more in-depth descriptions at my etsy shop. Any feedback regarding the way I'm updating? Likes/dislikes? I think It'll be simpler this way... Because when you go to one of the links, you can just browse the rest of the shop and the most recent items listed are usually the most recent items I've made. Good? Bad? Ugly? Or should I stick to the old format?

Some very plain picture frames that I jazzed up by painting the glass slides using watered-down acrylic paints and clear spray topcoat, using the same method I used to paint the mirror that I posted here some time ago.

3:26 pm - Paintings: "Fond Memories" and "Expressionist Bullseye"
|
Two very different paintings I did last summer. One, "Fond Memories" (6x8) is inspired by a doll that I used to have, set in an empty corner using mostly muted browns with a splash of a grapey purple in the doll's outfit. The other, "Expressionist Bullseye" (5x5) is not intended to be an expressionist piece, but a farce instead, using bright colors and bold sloppy brushstrokes. Both on pre-stretched canvases.

A couple of T-shirts I designed. The pink is a design I did for the house T-shirt for Willow Bates at ISU 2005-2006. The orange is a design I came up with for a mission trip I went on a couple years ago. I also did the design for our T-shirts when academic Decathlon went to state competition a couple years ago, but I can't find my T-shirt, so I'll get a photo up sometime of somebody else's.

4:16 pm - Mural
|
I did the drawing that blew up to become this mural. If I ever get it back I'll post photos of the drawing itself for further detail. Originally, it had rays of lighter shades but the muralist that painted it, Sue Raymond, made an artistic decision to leave them out. It took way too long and I played a much bigger role in the production than I would have liked, but I still think of it as my baby and my first step in the art world.
